Scholarship and Discounts
Since Salem Bible College (SBC) is not accredited by an independent
accrediting agency, we are not eligible for government grants. SBC is
approved for veteran benefits, NAFTA, and vocational rehabilitation
assistance. Student loans are also available to SBC students. In
addition, SBC offers scholarship monies through the Dean Memorial
Scholarship Fund. Students apply in advance and are accepted based upon
financial need, ministry potential, and pastoral recommendation. SBC
students are also eligible for the Oregon District Assemblies of God
Superintendent's Ministerial Scholarship and the Fine Arts Festival
Scholarship.
The Dean Memorial Scholarship
The Dean Memorial Scholarship is awarded to qualified students based on
ministerial potential, financial need, and a personal interview.
Applicants are required to be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits for
each quarter that they apply for the scholarship. Recipients must
maintain at least a “B” average to be considered for the award in the
following quarter. Scholarship awards increase each quarter that the
student successfully maintains a “B” average.
The Fine Arts Festival Scholarship
The Fine Arts Festival Scholarship is available to individuals who
receive a superior with invitation at the Oregon District Assemblies of
God Fine Arts Festival. Applicants must show how they would use their
gifts to benefit the ministry of SBC. Scholarships will be given to a
maximum of two applicants and will be chosen based on the selected
criteria. Each winner will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship redeemable
during the next twelve months. Students must be enrolled for fifteen
credit hours for each quarter they desire to receive the scholarship.
