Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree is designed to prepare students for effective leadership in the 21st century. Students will be equipped with the technical and managerial skills to perform with competence. Students also will be challenged to think and grow as people of character and vision, so they will be able to lead with passion, compassion, courage, and integrity.

M.A. Social Entrepreneurship

The Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship (MASE) teaches students to use innovative business management skills to solve social problems and create sustainable, effective organizations. Students learn together in a cohort model, mentored by high quality, caring professors. Graduates from this program will be qualified to lead a nonprofit organization, advise business leaders on best practices for social impact programs or start their own social venture.

College of Social and Behavioral Sciences

M.A. Counseling Psychology

The M.A. in Counseling Psychology is designed to prepare students to serve their communities as licensed mental health counselors. The professors draw from their academic studies and professional experience to provide students with the background they will need to be successful in the field of counseling psychology.

M.A. International Care and Community Development

The M.A. in International Care and Community Development (ICCD) is designed to prepare men and women for context-sensitive, strategic leadership in meeting the needs of the poor and oppressed, both in the U.S. and overseas. The degree emphasizes core issues of global-cultural awareness and social justice.

PsyD Counseling Psychology

The PsyD program is a five-year program designed to prepare the doctorate student to serve in diverse community settings as a counseling psychologist. The program will focus on theoretical and applied evidence-based scholarly literature and research. Emphasis is placed on an international, multicultural and social justice focus.

College of Ministry

M.A. Missional Leadership

The M.A. in Missional Leadership will provide you with a curriculum that develops a theoretical framework for understanding leadership, mission and culture, globalization, ethics, motivation, creativity, vision, strategic planning, teamwork, spirituality, and other leadership issues.

M.A. Theology and Culture

The purpose of the M.A. in Theology and Culture is to enable effective witness and service both within the Christian community and to the larger society. Through exploration of the various influences on contemporary culture and theology, you will come to a better understanding of your own assumptions and those of your faith tradition.

Master in Ministry

The Master in Ministry (MIM) is a new degree offered by the College of Ministry at Northwest University. It is designed to prepare students – intellectually, spiritually, and functionally – for vocational or lay ministry.

Reflecting the emphasis of this three-pronged approach, the curriculum is accordingly academically rigorous, spiritually enriching, and praxis-oriented in order to holistically prepare men and women to successfully engage in Christian leadership.

 

School of Education

Master of Education (MEd) & Professional Teacher Certificate

The Master of Education (MEd) is a two-year, continuing education program for teachers holding the Residency Teacher Certificate, the entry level licensure in Washington State. Within five to seven years of completing entry level certification, the practicing teacher must qualify for the Professional Teacher Certificate. Though a graduate degree is not required for the second and final certificate, a master’s and certification are often pursued simultaneously.

Master in Teaching

The Master in Teaching (MIT) program prepares post-baccalaureate students with strong academic credentials who seek the first level of teacher certification and who demonstrate a high aptitude for scholarship and teaching at the elementary and secondary levels.
