Almost everyone has their own favorite music to listen to. It comes in different genres. Somehow music helps people be stimulated in doing the things they want, don’t want or need to do. For example, when one recently got her heart broken, listening to sad music triggers her emotion and she suddenly does things that could make her remember everything. Though it’s not what she wants because it’s hurting her, somehow the music gets her to act that way. This power of music is what businessmen are trying to use so they can engage people to come to their store and purchase things. They use overhead music with the hopes of acquiring more sales. However, they can’t just use any music. There are things to consider when choosing the right one for the business.

When you want to include over head music in your store, you will have to match it with your products. If you’re selling modern and hip clothes, you want to use a more hip sound to attract customers because your target crowd is younger. You don’t usually find grandparents purchasing miniskirts or super tight jeans so why use 60s song? When you’ve found the right tune, you will have to decide whether you want to use the sound for entertainment or advertisement. Others use it to promote their new items, promos and such like on hold music of customer services. What they do is hire a composer to create the tune and vibe they want for original music. This could also serve as their trademark sound although many prefer it to change from time to time, kind of like seasonal sound.

They say that people who listen to classical music are more renaissance and calm, while those who listen to rock music are more undecided and daring. This might not apply to all, but when you see people at a concert, you will be able to notice something common about them. It may be their clothes or their collective behavior. If people respond to music as much as I say, there are a lot of things you can do with music. On hold music can calm clients while they are waiting for a call transfer or if the line is busy. It can also be used by therapists to calm and clear the minds of their patients.
